Privacy policy

Kontovu is an AI study app for students, operated by Agustín Prada as an individual developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Kontovu, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to run the app: your account details (such as your email address), the questions and prompts you submit, and basic technical data such as device type, operating system, and app version. If you contact us, we keep a copy of that correspondence so we can respond. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never see or store your card details.

How we use information

We use your information to operate and improve Kontovu: providing study answers and practice sessions, maintaining your account, fixing bugs, preventing misuse, and understanding aggregate usage. Our legal bases for processing are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and functional, and your consent where you have given it (for example, for optional communications, which you can withdraw at any time).

AI processing

Your prompts are processed by OpenAI through its API in order to generate responses. OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train its models. Even so, avoid submitting highly sensitive personal information in your prompts.

Sharing

We share information only when necessary: with service providers who help us operate the app — Supabase (hosting and database) and OpenAI (AI responses) — when required by law, or to protect the safety and integrity of Kontovu and its users. Providers may only use the information to perform services for us. We do not sell your personal information, and we use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the app.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where some of our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the app, or request deletion by email. When you do, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system can be guaranteed fully secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and keep your device up to date.

Age requirement

Kontovu requires users to be at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, receive a portable copy of your data, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email agustin@astlian.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).

Website and cookies

Our website is informational and does not require an account. It uses no analytics, cookies, or advertising trackers beyond what is strictly necessary to serve the pages. Kontovu is only available as an iPhone app; there is no web version.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of Kontovu after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
